Kula rugs generally come in smaller sizes. Most Turkish rugs have been influenced by Caucasian designs. With 100% vegetable dye, Kula rugs have rather coarse woolen pile tied with Ghiordes knots on a foundation of wool. The pile is deep, so that it is hard-wearing. The ground is red and the design is multi-coloured.
